Milton Keynes meets

Post by stevenb »

Hi all,

Now I'm back in the seat of an MR2 again I think some meets are on the agenda.
I'm based in Dunstable, but MK seems a good central area for a meet.

Me and a mate (also registered on this forum) are looking to perhaps do a coast run weekend 5/6 July...possibly down to the south coast ie Brighton, or to Clacton on the East coast. (Exact day not know yet!)

Short notice but if you can't make a coast run then we can hold a meet at the Caldecotte Arms pub in Caldecotte, MK.
Directions/details nearer the time.

Stick yer name down on here if your interested and watch this space.
Please feel free to ask any questions!!

See you all soon.

Hello Mate, come down to the Hemel Monthly meet next Tuesday. Usually a good turn out we had about 14 cars last month and there's good food too!

Cheers,

I'd definately be up for a coastal run. It's surprising how many members there are here or nearby, I know there are a few MK1 guys in MK and over Bedford way, and I'm only in Buckingham. Now my '2 is working again I'm up for doing some driving in it

Not too far from you in Harpenden - would like to come to a local IMOC meet, can't make the coastal run unfortunately but will keep an eye for future MK-ish events. :thumleft:

Nice one guys.
Coastal run details to follow....I'll put a post up once confirmed.

There are a few of us around here indeed which is nice to know.

I used to work in Batford, Harpenden. :)

Hemel meet is ok with me...but not sure about Tuesdays TBH mate. :-k ...tends to clash with work on a weekday. :(

No worries Pete.
Will keep you posted.
Was it you we saw on Weds PM (approx 15.25) on the A5 heading southbound in Milton Keynes?
A black car flashed my mate when we were in his red tubby. :)

Do you work in MK Pete?
I do.....I commute through Woburn mostly to get to Tongwell.
Although occassionally I go straight up to the Little Chef R.Bout and straight up the Bow Brickhill Rd to the V10.

No worries Steve, will do.

Well...the MK meet planned was scrapped a few days ago...mainly due to the weather we are having....as too was the coast run....good old British weather....NOT

A coast run will be planned with suitable notice.
MK meets are still being looked into but I will post up info asap.
I know a chap on MR2OC is looking to organise meets in MK...and at the same location I would use....so not sure what to do.
Doesn't bother me really...having to share a venue...but it may bother others and of course there must be mutual respect for one another. :)

Watch this space.

Sharing a venue with the OC wouldn't bother me. As far as I'm concerned, any lover of the Mr2 get's my respect, regardless of which club they have decided to join.

Nice to hear.
I know the chap who is looking to organise it so may suggest a joint venture for both clubs because as you say...its about the cars and fans/owners of them. :thumleft:

Hi Steve

That's well said by both of you, I personally believe that if you like your 2 it shouldnt matter what owners club you belong too because you like the same thing basically.
The monthly meet in Hemel was arranged through the OC as that is where I know most of the members from (as I am regional rep on the OC) but it was posted here as everyone is welcomed to come and the greater the turnout the better the night in my opinon (we had 18 2s come to the last meet).
As for the Milton Keynes meet that I am planning to hopefully get some details up very soon, but I am looking for it to happen on a weekend probably a Saturday Mid afternoon either monthly or bi monthly

Dave :D
