need help! Burning smell!

hi guys,

i went for a drive tonight, i pulled away from a set of traffic lights with some speed, soon after i noiced a burning smell!?!? i know that it was not rubber from the tyres, but it was something else. the smell remained constant until i got home, when i stepped out of the car the smell was very strong...

could this be my cluch?

or something more sinister?

please help!

Alternatively Brakes...
To check, go for a drive, then stop and feel the temperature of each wheel. If one brake is jammed the alloy will be hotter than the rest.

Another thing worth checking, take a look under the car to see if you have picked something up on the Exhaust flexi - EG a plastic bag.

Clutch smell usually clears after a couple of minutes, and you usually only make it smell if it was slipping badly under heavy load.
