360 video store is a joke!

any body read the T&C??
its pathetic. you buy the films on a rental basis, once downloaded u have 15 days to watch the film BUT the instant you press play you can only watch that film for the next 24hours! what a joke.
they said they released the elites hdd to store hd movies and tv shows??? fair enough the shows stay as long as u want them but why do you need 120 gig when the download is only going to be on your xbox for 24 hours?

who said anything about buying them from the online store? the ps3 allows you to store any file on its hdd, video, picture, music game saves classic games etc the 360 "rental" service is a joke

It isn't great the new service, I grant you, but it is cheaper than our local Blockbuster or Sky Box Office.
Everything you have listed can be accessed from a 360 with an additional hard drive plugged into one of the USB ports.
I know your talking about additonal cost for the storage space but your larger hard disk didn't come for free either. I can load the HDD with Divx stuff and play them at will.
I reckon media playing wise there is nothing between them, so can't see an issue with that.

Fair point, but you can add storage to a 360 for a lot less than the offical drives. My 350 gig external drive cost under £60. A movie weighs in at just under a gig, once its been through the divx mill, so you can get a fair bit of music and a LOT of films on there.

No save games or marketplace downloads, but everything else.

Again, its not ideal, but you can take the load off the 360's HDD with it.
I have 20 gigs of music and will be throwing a few more films at it shortly.

If you want to you use an external hard disk you have to format it as FAT32 as the 360 won't play ball with NTFS.

Just out of interest what are the file sizes on average for say a 2 hour film? Surely if you are watching in HD its going to be 25GB. Can't see how this is practical in all honesty.

the sizes are around 5 gig and they are only 720p, my friend downloaded 300 in 720p the other night only took 5 hours..................

I think its a good idea, as long as you plan in advance. Cheaper than most rental places

Well i'm not convinced as 720p isn't really true HD. Needs to be in 1080p.
