MY INTERIOR STORY!! 56ker's beware!! LOADSA PICS!

Post by jimGTS »

when i got the car, came stock, but with mono wheel and mono gear stick.
first job, change dash to silver to match mono parts.
then, custom silver Speedhut dials to keep the silver theme. kept the stock red needles to match my stereo/turbo timer and alarm LED, and custom blue font to match the other colour of my stereo.
then a few bulbs and LEDs from ultraled.co.uk, all in blue to finish off. this obviously matches my blue speedhut dials. (only changed the ignition led and interior "above your head" bulbs).

hope you like it!!!

ps, still to come, Speedhut boost guage in exactly the same custom colours to match my dials, and MAYBE some blue footwell neons, we'll see!

much prefer stock look tbh.

Particularly don't like the silver dash as its following a trend that new cars have for silver plastic dash's which just makes the quality look far worse than it does in black. I think it give it a few years and silver dash's will go out of fashion much like those hideous clear lenses.

No offence intended. ;)

far do's, but the point of making my 2 individual, is just that, making it look different from others (and not OTT).
if id had EVERYTHING black, including wheel, gear stick etc etc, it would have looked close to stock. thats not the look im after.

im not saying the stock interior is bad, im just saying i wanted mine to be different, and IMO, ive done a good job, and its not "out there", like a few 2's ive seen. i can live with the clean colours, and everything looks like it goes together.

tar 4 your comment :-)

A few harsh comments there. The dash looks better silver, as is mine. The trouble is everyone has got a silver dash. I couldnt be bothered to change my dials so i painted my dashboard bulbs blue. a bit lazy i know. ive also got blue lights above your head. I went to halfords to get some Honda Jazz pink paint for the dash to be different, but they dont stock it.

Seriously? (About painting the dash, not about Halfords not having it in stock.)
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

I like it.

Looks alot better than the Stock version.

I've just order a load of blue LED's for the FTO. Going to replace all the standard bulbs with them.

Keep up the good work.

It looks ok fella.

Not my personal cuppa tea though.

I think that if I did my interior, i may be tempted by a dark metalic colour or something.

but for now, I'll concentrate on getting the engine back in!! :)

I like the look of the blue 'above your head' lights, but do they actually light-up the interior?

for what you get compared to other dials youll find, there a little more expensive, but totally werth the dosh.
there the speedhut dials, £80 including shippping from da US of A!! all custom built, you can choose the dial colour, the font style, font colour, el glo or reverse as well as options to include logos on the dials (i put mr2 on the rev counter).
awsome quality, it enables me to dim the brightness of the dials as well as change the colour to green all with a tiny control.
a few peeps on here have got these, and not ONE bad word has been said about them!!

unfortunatly mate, not that much.
id say bout 30% power of the standard yellow bulbs, BUT with these, i get a nice hue and tint of blue all over the interior when lit up (you cant really tell on the pics). a good "in the mood" ambient light, if ya know what i mean!
certainly not as bright as the yellows, but sets off my dash alot better and matchs with everything.
