K and N Induction Kits Mk 2

Post by Swansea Jack »

Hi, I've recently fitted a K and N Induction Kit to My 93 Mk2 NA.
The instructions say that the 'cold start plug 'needs to be inserted into the base of the filter.
Firstly can anyone tell me where I can find the cold start plug and secondly will it make any difference if I don't fit it but simply plug the hole with a rubber grommet (which is what I've done).
Thanks all

You would have had to remove it from the previous filter (from memory, it's attached to a wire!), make sure it's not still attached to your old air box.

Or it could be 'hanging around' in your engine bay. :)

Yeah .... you will need the sensor. It has something to do with checking the air temp on Start up.

It's a right b1tch to fit in the hole though .... took alot of elbow grease and loads of swear words to get it fitted snugly.

Hope this helps.

I just fitted the K&N on mine. Sounds WONDERFUL.... can't believe the amount of junks (all the air boxes) the original car comes with...
