Fuel guage

Hi all,
My fuel guage shows half full even thou' the ignition is switced off, and i am sure the tank is 3/4 full. it didnt seem to move today even after a 20 mile run

1992 rev 2 turbo

any ideas

The fuel gauge doesn't drop to the bottom like it does on most cars with the ignition off.

Mind you 20 miles in a tubby, I'd have thought you'd be on nearly empty by now
