Speaker fitment / Wiring diagrams. please contribute!

Post by Neil_turbo »

Ok,

So most of the posts in this section are regards to fitment of component speakers, which ones require spacers, and which dont. I think its about time that we made a collective list of what we have installed, and how many mm's of spacing were needed, eg 2 x 18mm mdf = 36 etc.

I will then keep this list updated and get a photo how-to added. hopefully it can be made a sticky and will be of great help to those changing/uprating their speakers.

But for this to work everbody needs to reply here with what they have and what spacers were needed!

Cheers

Neil

Infinities

Post by sadgav »

I have just put some infinity reference 5.5" and the speaker fits straight in with the tweeter using the same mount as the existing and just bolting straight on.
Great sound - easy fit, deep tone.

I think all 5" speakers fit straight in without spacers??

Hi Neil.

I've got Focal Access 165 (6.5") which needed 18mm spacers. The tweeters fit straight into the stock location though.

Great idea Neil. Perhaps one of the Admin team could make this a sticky for this section?

MKII

Helix HXS235 - I believe 12mm baffle
Helix RS6.3 - mid needs a 36mm baffle, or with light surgery to the door you can get away with 18mm, no hope of tweet fitting in stock location mind. :)
Image Dynamics CX62 - magnet just fits through door hole, again 36mm baffle to fit without surgery.

The Image Dynamics are just mid-bass units. There are ID tweeters and horns to go with them but I've not owned either.
