Interesting Mr Bond [Think]

I think I'll book mine in for a pre-emptive emissions test and see what's what.

a 97 is the lower of the emissions levels so harder to pass without a CAT

Indeed - Lambda and idle readings were fine, it was just the fast engine speed readings it failed on.

The certificate is still in the car, I'll post the figures later this evening after I've picked the missus up from the station.

Correct. A MR2 Turbo with decat in normal, healthy condition will nearly always record a CO of 0.7-1%. Anything substantially more e.g. above 1.3%, and whilst it will pass the MOT, suggests a problem with the engine or management system.

Mine just passed with 2.6% what do I need to do now, I've just changed the lambda sensor, do I need another ecu?

My 94 n/a went in for mot, the tester said because it didn't come with a cat it didn't need one. I still bought one to weld on to original system, just in case I needed it, put it in for test with the japspeed. When I picked it up he just said "All passed, emissions weren't a problem" but I didn't get an emissions sheet with my test cert. Not entirely sure how that worked but I have an mot cert [Cool]
