Gearbox Oil

Hi i'm new to the list and own a 1990 mr2 coupe the one with the 3SFE engine.

The owners handbook for my car specifiys the use of automatic transmission oil even in the manual gearbox models is this correct and if it is why do they spec auto oil for a manual box.

I've often wondered about that myself.

If it's good enough for a Sikorsky S-76 then it's good enough for an MR2!!!!
