Sold My Soul !!

Post by Russel Cook »

 Well ladies and gents, the MR2 Turbo has now been sold. I am no longer an MR2 owner.
I now drive a Honda Accord Type-R which is proving to be great fun and a welcome return to spacious, practical motoring.

I just wanted to pop back to this site to thank all of you who have been so helpful during the year that I have owned the car.

No dispute, the MR2 is a great car, but had to go !

All the best to everyone here, I hope you all have a great Christmas and wish you every success in the future and drive safe !!

Not as quick from low revs, but absolutely brilliant in the higher rev ranges, very quick indeed.
I am certainly not disappointed with it !!

Another MR2 > Honda move, the IMOC-UK-CHAT list is full of them :)

Hang around and join in the fun, I haven't had my MR2 for ages now but it's still nice to annoy this lot

I have recently bought a Honda Accord Lreg 2.3 auto, obviously nothing like your new Vtec. It's bloody slow,a pig of a car, even though it's 155 bhp!
Terrible on fuel too! Thinking of selling it!
I still have my mk1 Sc and might get another, recently sold my old mk1 na to Lauren Blighton,i wish i still had it but i will be pleased to see it racing next year in the Mr2 Challenge

I hope to add a second (well third if you count the runabout) car to my garage soon, in the form of an escort cosworth...although the Evo3 I went out in last night made me grin like a loon.

The Type-R Accord handles truly beautifully. It feels so much more stable than the 2.
The Limited Slip Diff on the front wheel drive is absolutely brilliant as well, it just pulls you out of the bend.

You will not be dissapointed with the Type-R 8)

I've had mine for a couple of years now, been well happy with it.

However my wife has the MR2 so i have the best of both worlds.
T-bar off in the summer and the ATR for more 'sensible' occasions.

I assume you will be hanging out on the Honda Revolutions forums now then....

I wasn't aware of that forum, I shall have to look it up.

Watched the Tubby disappear off into the night this evening....a bit sad to see it go, but now I can concentrate on the Type R !!

I am still holding out hope after taking you for a passenger ride that you will come back into the MR2 owning ranks soon :)

It's about the only Honda UK forum around.
Focus is on 'bread vans' (Civics) and Integras.

A good smattering of ATR owners on there though.

Be sure to read the rules / readme's first, they can be seen to be a bit like the MR2DC forum sometimes

Def agree with that. I was a fully paid member over there. but didnt post that often. they didnt like it when I posted something up cos I dont post often enough.

I went from my first tubby to a Honda Prelude then back to another tubby.

Still have the prelude. Its a 2.2 VTI R reg and goes like stink over 5k when vtec kicks in. I'll be selling it after Xmas. It handles really well, some say like a 4WD. Prob due to the rear wheel steer.
