looking at the post by Ryan his '94 car without missing bits came in at 1357kg so my rev2 comes in a whopping 107Kg lighter.

doesn't feel much of a slouch :D

I like gay blue, my Japanese neighbour said they didn't sell many this colour in Japan as its known as 'baby boy blue'..

Only colour i'd like as much is white, none of the other colours do the car justice. :D

That is interesting as its only 70kg more than a loaded MK1 SC.

Am, guessing the earlier revs on the MK2s are the lighter ones.

I will get my early Mk1 weighed once its on the road as this should be an example of the lightest MR2. will be interesting to see.

If you statred with a rev1 tintop that had no powersteering as standard I think it'll be easy under 1200kg. My car does have the PAS in place and a sunroof. I have not gone mad on weight loss either, interior is all still there including the 8 speaker stereo system stock seats etc.

I'm on the group buy for a decat downpipe so I understand that will loose a fair few Kg. After that i think realistically I'll only replace the seats, maybe a carbon bootlid that'll be it then. Should be about the 1200kg mark then.

This is why I attain such good results down the 1/4 mile in my gen1 turbo. I weighed mine in at our local tip and it was 1220kgs with no fuel.

ah you can loose 20kg easy still though, as fuel is 1kg per litre, 35? or is it 40 litre per tank so + 37ishKg put it as 1257kg with full fluids :D

for those that don't know, my car weight related spec is as follows :-

single exit exhaust (in my opinion the biggest saving)
1 exhaust mount removed
exhaust heat shielding removed
subframe resonance block removed
boot lining removed
rev3 spoiler
bulkhead heat shielding removed, replaced with thermotec barrier
stock induction removed
engine cover inner panel cut away
electric aerial removed (in-car one fitted)
No centre console box
No spare wheel (replaced with can of puncture repair stuff & pump)
No spare wheel frame
No plastic cowl under bonnet
No air con
No ABS
Sunroof oppose T-Bar
Coilover suspension
Rays 16" lightweight split rims

Fuel is actually a bit less than 1kg per litre. So 41 litres weighs in at around 30Kg.

interesting didn't know that, water weighs 1 kg per litre thats where the litre measurement came from, thats how my thinking was going.

Thats not an MR2, its a chassis with 4 wheels, an engine and a seat! No wonder it was so light :)

I guess my car a bit lardy :?
