Mayo in oil filler cap URGENT

Post by Ja99a »

Guys need help, just looked at the oil filler cap on my car & its got a lot of mayo on the bottom, i know this is a recent situation as I check the oil & top up regularly.

What i need to know is where possibly could the water in the oil be coming from (obviously the head gasket is the prime suspect here), but I have recently removed the oil filter & housing the threaded stem that the filter screws onto, could this be the cause of my problem?

Oh removing the filter stem was ok but putting it back was really tight could I have done any dammage?

HELP.....

Common problem this time of year, probably just condensation, nothing to worry about. Check the dipstick, if it's clear of the stuff, you're ok more than likely.

Yeah, If you do a lot of short trips then it is very common and nothing to worry about. Mine did this and i havent had any problems with it...

Small trips

Post by Ja99a »

Generally I only do lots of short trips most of the time the car is still running safe not allowing me full boost.

Do you think that this is the cause of the mayo?

Oil on dipstick looked fine.
I will change the oil soon.

Cylinder

Hi,

Simplest and cheapest way is do a compression check one each cylinder you will soon find out if there’s a problem.
