ok, im uprating to ARP head studs and renewing the HG along with a service of the head.
obviously makes sense to change cambelt at the same time.

question is, as long as things are TDC, ok to just remove the top of the belt to be able to get the head off, then worry about the rest of the belt later?

drop in cams;

updated cams always require degreeing? or anything available to literally drop in, reshim and use straight up and bolt to oem cam gears?

I always thought you had done a writeup on a hg swap?

To answer your first question, i just took the top of the belt off mine and the head came off ok.

Out of interest, why are you taking the head off? If its all fine i wouldnt mess with it.

If removing the head in situ Id get the crank 90 degrees past tdc. That way all your pistons are in the middle. And you can rotate the cams with no worries. Of course I know they are non interference but for that extra peace of mind.

I have a Rev 3 NA inlet cam in the garage should you be interested, they are 12 degrees longer duration (252 vs 240) and 1.1mm more lift (9.8 vs 8.7) than a stock Rev 3 turbo inlet cam

Slide in the DM's if you're interested
