Replacing Turbocharger

Post by sir chad »

My CT26 is on its last legs, Rev 2 with aftermarket intercooler, decat exhaust, intake and FCD and boost controller.
Q. Am I better off fitting a CT20B or getting my CT26 rebuilt and upgraded?
My ambition is to get to 280HP. But can only afford turbo so doing it in slow steps (I've only had the tubby for 18 years!)
Thanks for reading

Probably worth getting the ct26 upgraded, rather than buying a 2nd hand ct20b with a questionable history.

Agree with this.

I prefer a hybrid ct26 than a standard ct20b anyway.

Upgrade on the ct26 maybe.

ct20b > over an upgraded ct26 any day.

The results have been proven time and time again. The only reasonable result from an upgraded ct26 was on a fully built engine run at 1.5-1.6 bar of boost and it still didn’t even make 300hp at the wheels.

But then what was the fuel doing? Could of been the injectors holding the power back rather than the turbo itself?
