Guys I'm stumped...
I'm on my 3rd head gasket, refitting the head is getting silly now, so lets throw this one on the forum...
I have rebuilt the top end after blowing head gasket, now the HG seems to just fail.
Crusing at 3k warming motor through cased it to fail using a genuine REV3 MLS head gasket. The engine had seen no boost...
Originally the cometic 1.6mm went when I was racing, it still ran, with a chance of over heating, then a 1.5mm MLS (ebay) blew and finally a Toyota REV3 MLS went...
I drag raced on the cometic for a year or two so overall the unit works, I've broken something...
The block looks ok
I have used .05 feeler and a straight edge on the head and block and vertically horizontally and diagonally as far as I can tell both are fine.
I have ARP head bolts and have been torquing up to 65ft lb in three stages with moly lube, in correct sequence.
I'm stumped...
Could it be the ARP head studs?
Oh it's a REV1/2 head.

Are you retorquing after 1000-1500miles?

And you scored up your cams? Something must be put back badly.

Re: Blown head gasket - 3rd replacement...
Personally I think the torque of the ARPs is too low. Id go to 75ish depending on feel.
