Migou's introduction

Post by Migou »

Hello MR2 enthusiasts!!

I am Miguel, 28, French living in Oxford.
I owned a Mazda RX8 which I sold a couple of weeks ago after 2 years of ownership because I wanted a 2 seaters and I always wanted to have an MR2.
So here I am, I have been looking around for a while but now it's concrete: I will get a red/black rev1 turbo this weekend, if the owner has the time to do the MOT by then.
I test drove it and it is really exciting. Can't wait to have it.

I will post pics when I actually get it. Thanks everyone for making this forum a good place to share a passion and for the loads of information.

thanks, I already love them but yes driving it as my car will be even better, I'm a japanese car enthusiast, they just know how to make good sport cars, without having to fit huge engines.

The rx8 was a real pleasure too, and after a rotary engine, here I come with a mid engine :D

Its a bit different driving an MR2 they are much less forgiving when driving fast, I would absolutely recommend good tyres what ever you do don't skimp on them and maintain the stagger of tyre sizes.

I miss my MR2 very much.

yeah, mid engine makes it trickier if you lose the rear. I will take the time to learn how it behaves and not overestimate myself nor the car's grip :)

and yeah I got the same advice for the stagger, I will make sure I keep it right
thanks again !!

It is finally here on my parking space :)
got it and drove back yesterday from Crawley to Oxford, very enjoyable, pulls hard, and this T-bar is just too good, although it was raining so it stayed on for this time :D
It also turns a lot of heads, maybe the color helps for that

can't post links yet but as soon as I can I'll post pictures of the toy.

I'll put the original lights back on (it as lexus style rear lights but I have got the original with it), will see when I have time to do it.
I also need to check the fuel gauge that doesn't work, the previous owner couldn't check it.
also at some point the speedo stopped working too on the way back, so might be an electrical problem behind it. Fuse maybe, I'll check that :)
It seems like kind of things happening when the car has not been driven that much.

Again thanks for the welcoming here, and see you on various threads and hopefully at some events too \:D/
