Going back to standard steering wheel

Post by ste_brough »

Does anyone know if I want to go back from an aftermarket wheel with a boss to a standard wheel, do I need any other parts?

Wheel and boss off, stock wheel back on, reconnect horn. Job done.

Might need wheel alignment doing afterwards to get the wheels pointing straight with the steering wheel centred.

(When I had mine done the front wheels were straight and the steering wheel was centred before taking aftermarket steering wheel off, and they put the stock steering wheel on as straight as possible - they let me watch the whole process as they know what they are doing and that some swaps need wheel alignment doing afterwards and some don't....)

Glad I went back to the standard steering wheel just after I got this car.

Thanks mate, yeah I know what you mean I think it's sometimes the splines aren't the same on the wheels. So while one lines up another would be slightly off ...
