[Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox rebuild / replacements. Options?

Post by monkeyra »

My gearbox over the years is gradually getting worse, there's a delay before 2nd gear will slot home and reverse is a crunch.

Is this syncros or something else?

If it needs a rebuild who is reputable?

Thanks.

Is it still a rev1 box? They were known for having weak synchros compared to later boxes so it's likely just age.

Any decent gearbox/transmission company should be able to do it there's nothing special about them, there's a big company in Sheffield but the name eludes memory currently
