The previous owner replaced the radiator and all hoses but I can see that he didn't properly flush out the system.
The engine is out the car at the moment and I can see that the water pump is u/s and will be replaced this weekend.
As I've dismantled the stat housing and various coolant pipes (supplying turbo, etc) I can see plenty of rusty particles and general rust staining - assuming from the failing water pump.
I'm minded to rig up a pump and circulate some Wynns coolant flush as I don't want to refit the engine in it's current state.
Reckon it should work if I leave the stat out.
Any ideas or tips?
thanks

I'd imagine the rust was from the old rad rather than the water pump. A good flush and fill will be fine. I'm not a fan of the chemical flushes personally.

Just run a hose through it and see what comes out as it's out of the car.

Thanks.
Always prefer to keep it simple if possible.
I've seen quite a few flakes of rust and don't want them blocking anything like the smaller ports on the turbo.
