Wheels (will it be okay)

Post by SunnyJ »

Please excuse me if I am in the wrong section.

I'm looking at buying some alloys for my MK2 turbo rev2.

The offset is 30, 8.5J and tyres are 205, 40, 17" (slightly stretched, will be changed to a proper tyre size)

My MR2 is on stock suspension.

Will these fit....?.. sorry I'm not very good at wheel sizes etc.

Fronts are too wide and offset too low.

Rear offset too low.

Ideal sizes:

17x9 rear et 35-38
17x8 front et 35-38.

unless you have coilovers then 25-30 offset on an 8 inch wheel in ok up front

I don't mean to sound dumb....,

However if the car was lowered surely the arch would be closer to the wider wheel?

It's to do with the strut type, stock struts are bigger in diameter, also running coilovers doesn't necessarily mean you need to run the car lower :thumleft:
