So far I bought rev1 3sgte for £2300 with 45000 miles
Spent about 500 on it so far
Going to spend around 1800 on some upgrades dump valve and ecu etc...
How much £$ have you spent on your mr2 to date. Seperate cost of the vehicle.

Similar figure to Dale V. Too much lol Over ten years though and a fair chunk in labour and about three resprays don`t help.

I have never spent much on modding, i prefer to either buy someone elses work or do basic mods, my first mr2 was a disaster, maybe spent 3k on mods before calling it a day.
2nd mr2 had bolt ons pretty much, dastek map, exhaust, bodykit and respray(which i did myself) so less than 2k.
since then i have had ups and downs but nothing overly expensive, my current mr2 i have spent over 3k for an extra 60 bhp so probably not the best £ for power but the deed is now done....
saying that i got money back on selling the items i upgraded, two mapping sessions were around £800 though
Apart from buying three to four cars that had major issues i was unaware off, every other mr2 i got in good running order stayed that way, easily one of the most reliable cars i have owned...

I've had my mk1 v6 for about a year and half and I'm pretty sure I've dropped about £10k into her and she's nowhere near where I want it. Yet
Re: How much £$ have you spent on your mr2 to date. Seperate cost of the vehicle.
Around 7k, but that does include a gen 4 turbo swap with upgrades.
Re: How much £$ have you spent on your mr2 to date. Seperate cost of the vehicle.
Since 2008, around £32k, not including the cost of the car - £3k.

I'm not shocked.

I prefer not to add it up.

I'm not either as paying someone else to do the work doesn't take long to get to silly amounts.
35k is almost R35 terrritory or a decent two year old M car, if only you had the hindsight to realise this

dont want to think about it but easily 30k plus
If you see an MR2 with a raised engine cover, the bottom line is it's probably faster than your car.

cant really look at it that way, because what your saying is NO decent car for 10years just to save up and buy a r35 over the 10+years of enjoyment owning/driving the mr2.
if he layed out 35k in one hit on the mr2, thats a different story, ha.
plus your missing the real point, r35s are boring, big and heavy as hell!!

As above. It's not £35k in one hit, it's over 10 years. Hindsight doesn't come into it.
Plus I'd not want an R35 anyway. I'm not a fan of them in the slightest.
