[Mk2] [NA] Replacement sump for MK2 NA 3SGE - Can i use this one from a Celica?

Post by mk2too »

Hi,

I think (know) my sump is leaking. I believe its coming from the seal but i often find a build up on the bottom of the sump itself and i hear the sump on these can become porous over time?

I'm thinking just spend a little more and get a new sump as no doubt its a messy job!

I can't find a Rev 1/2 sump on eBay or online but having found the gasket, it states it will fit other models so assume the sump will too?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351942955050? ... EBIDX%3AIT

This for example is listed for an early celica but looks the same, is it? or am i missing something?

Cheers

Best thing to do is to cross reference the part numbers on Japan Parts-

http://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota/eu/199 ... nder-block

You can then search the part number -

http://www.japan-parts.eu/?part=12101-7 ... EU&cars=ok

Which says it's the same as an ST182 Celica.

Thanks for info Gazza,

I've found one for a ST182 which looks identical to the one i found which i was happy to see.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-CELICA ... SwEetV9qea

However, i've dug a bit deeper and found this one for sale

https://mr2-ben.co.uk/products/804

Which states is for a 92 model MR2 but looks different again? It seems to be slightly deeper and is has two extra bolt holes on the top which i gather i could drill out if i purchased the other one? But I am not sure about the internal dimensions being different...

However it still lists as being part number 12101-74070

Unless its just a change in design over the years?
