Phoenix Power SPL MR2 Turbo - HKS Build

Post by Spitelli »

After 12 years, 3 different engine setups with various stages of tune and an immensely heavy heart, it's now time to part with my MR2 Turbo.

She started life as 93 Rev2 running 330bhp. A few years later I upgraded the engine and turbo to a 2.1 stroker with a Greddy T67 where she made 406bhp/340Ib. After 3 years I then decided to take the plunge on a Black Phoenix Power SPL drag car which I broke for spares but retained the engine, fuel setup and a few other items that I had fully upgraded and refreshed for install into my car.

She now has the following build spec:

Always serviced and fully maintained with Opie oils and fluids. Genuine enquiries only please. I'm asking £8995.

Bad Points:
- Manifold is blowing and wants repairing (ideally replacing, which is what I'd do if I was keeping her)
- Would benefit from new plugs
- The ECU has had various stages of mapping carried out over the build process and is currently supporting 1.7bar of boost, which the boost controller is configured to manage (4 settings, 1.1, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7). The build will take 2bar plus, so I'd re-visit the map once the manifold is sorted as there is plenty more potential to realise.

I know the pics are poor; they're all I have to hand at the moment.

I'll update this thread as and when I think of other things to add.

Looks like a nice spec, some videos and more photos would help.

Is it worth getting the manifold done and a remap?

Personally if I was asking 8/9k for a car. I'd look at fixing those issues.
