[Mk2] [NA] Sports Cat question

Post by Rob66 »

Hi guys and gals

Considering getting myself a better quality Cat in the new year, my current one is probably on its way out. Has anyone any experience of the Sports Cat sold by MR2 Ben? Or any other suggestions? Not sure if makes a difference but my back box is Mongoose.

Cheers All.

Not personal experience but read a few places they can fail emissions.

Really? The limits for NA's are pretty lax, if it failed emissions with a sports cat it's probably broken.

I got a rev 3 in atm with a sports cat.. CO readings 5%...MOT FAIL.

Are you sure it's a sports cat? My old 97 NA MR2 ran lower than that with a decat.

Yep, customer said he had it fitted last year. New coolant temp sensor will help that reading come down too.

I fitted sports cats to a customers 350z recently.. Luckily it passed the mot with the old cats on it prior to fitting. Sports cats on 3.4% CO.

Thanks for replies guys, I'll have a look round see what other options I can find. Last time I looked OE cats were silly money but there must be other options out there. :)
