LINK have a promo running throughout November on their plugin ECU for the MR2.
I purchased mine form BHP Performance, who have very kindly honoured the promo price retrospectively (as have LINK with them). It saved me over £220!!
Just in case anyone's in the market for a LINK plugin ECU
Cheers,
Mark

What features does it have? Is it the same as the Link G4 storm?

The plugin is actually based on the Extreme board, so technically higher spec than the Storm.

How much was the unit at TCB, might be tempted to get one if the offers still on.

Pretty sure it's £770 inc vat for the plugin board, if you want to feed it with a wideband o2 signal (essential imo) then you'll need the expansion loom (£30ish) and obviously if you want it to do boost control you'll need to buy the solenoid

If you don't have a suitable wideband already, put the saving on the plugin towards Link's own CAN Lambda digital O2 setup complete with LSU 4.9 sensor.
That's what I did

My Link G4 uses my AVC-R solenoid. My AVC-R is still fitted with all its parameter still working apart from the boost control.
So if you guys already have a boost controller, you're in luck

Well bit the bullet and bought one from TCB for £720 all in. Didn't realise that it also came with the pc link stuff too!
Just have to shove it in a crappy na ecu case so I can hold on to the rev3 ecu.

My advice to all is to ONLY replace your OEM ECU when you change your turbo and fuel. My car is I'd say 98% as it was when i had the OEM ECU.
It's not major things, it's day to day manners that you miss. Tom who does Link for Fensport has done an amazing job on my mapping. They spent just as much time getting power from it as the normal driving manners.
Things like coming off the accelerator and letting the engine coast is finally where it needs to be.
I'd like to know if anyone runs an aftermarket ecu that runs just like OEM

I won't be using it for a while unfortunately, more than likely after my forged build is done and i've had it run in on the std ecu. It just seems hard to turn down at that price and seeing as i'd probably want one down the line it makes sense.
I may give it a cheeky plug in to test it works and mess with the pc link stuff because apparently it comes with a rev3 base map.

Have to say my link map by Simon drove OEM from the off. You wouldn't know there was an aftermarket one in there.

I think odin had his map done by a nissan specialist before he went to fensport?
Or am I getting mixed up with another poster I forget.
Ecu arrived at my work today, looks like a nice bit of kit. Just a shame the crap weather has killed any motivation to try it out lol.

For what it's worth, my car runs as good, if not better on my power FC than it did on the standard ECU. There's no reason any standalone shouldn't drive with good road manners, assuming enough time was spent on the cold start, idle, cruising and throttle tip in mapping - unless you've got something with huge injectors, mega cams etc which is always going to be a bit lumpy and uncivilised
