[Mk2] [Turbo] Custom exhaust

Post by pbmr2 »

Hi All,

Searching for a custom exhaust builder in the South East.
Looking to have custom mid pipe and center exit with the back box inline under the boot. Quite a simple setup.

Can you recommend a company who do good work and can build a quality exhaust that isn't silly loud?

Not exactly south east, but I'd happily recommend Peter's work, google PTR exhausts...he does get very busy, but again- that's proof of the quality of his work.

Thanks for the tip. Spose it's half the distance I traveled last time.

Going to have to bodge on an exhaust of some sort just to get to *wherever* as the gen 4 engine will have a 3" decat down pipe and currently only running an NA 3sge..

There is a local powerflow but that isn't really what I'm after.

Yeah good idea of what I'm after, not the usual solutions.

mid pipe back, 3", flex section, sports cat, single back box with twin 2.5" exit pipes, center mounted as high as possible. Need under 90db for some track days and daily driving.

4-500 quid.

Probably better off going for a longlife exhaust on that budget.

Mines off to RS fabrications come the new year for a custom exhaust, midpipe and downpipe and well all I can say is we won't be moving house till at least march

Right so me plucking £500 quid out of the air is well short of the mark it seems. Been many years since I last had an exhaust made.

What budget should be expected for a midpipe with flexi > cat > backbox?

Try JETEX for custom bolt on exhaust parts to build your own system.

When they done a friends Gtr Drag car they pointed a drag pipe directly at the fuel tank!! so not a 100% on that statement but they did rectify their mistake and said sorry

Hi mate

AMD Tuning in Lakeside Essex. (01708) 861827 They will custom make an exhaust to your specific requirements, they were quoting around £600 when I spoke to them year or so ago.

Thanks all!

Just got the downpipe from America so next week is calling round these people to see what they can do.

Had a bit of a win as the downpipe has a flexi already so only need cat and backbox for the rest of the system. Won't really bring the cost down much but it leaves more room to fit the cat in the mid pipe.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

EMP is local to me. They did a decat and repositioned the exhaust hangers on my old Golf and I was very happy with the work. Exhausts are their forte, not so much more specialist work.
