[FINALISED] Rev 3 MK2 Toyota MR2 G-Ltd White Tin-Top

Post by a6905608 »

This car was imported and registered in the UK 01.03.2008

I purchased this car on 30.01.2014 and am selling now as have gone back to driving an MX5. If I could afford to, I would keep this car and restore it to mint condition.

This car has done 103,750 miles. I have replaced much of the ignition system and it drives faultlessley. The car is MOTed until 04.03.2017. There were two advisories on the MOT (steering rack gaiter and rear drop link) which I have addressed. When the car was in the garage the other week to have these advisory items addressed, the mechanic advised me that one of the front shock absorbers is on its way out.

The car is really clean underneath. The body of the car looks good from afar but it does have some imperfections: It has a couple of tiny car park dints on the OS door; the seam on the inside of the O/S door, at the bottom, is (only just) starting to rust, as is the lip at the rear of the OS sill; it has had a respray at some point in its life; and the front bumper has been replaced at some point and needs a respray.

The car is for sale at £.

I have spent money (totalling ~£3,850) on the car as follows:

19.02.2014 O/S door & full O/S sill section (GTS Chris) £300

28.02.2014 O/S door & sill replacement and painting (NE Autobody) £1250 cash payment

12.03.2014 4-wheel laser alignment (Wallace Performance) £120.00

31.03.2014 3S-FE boot lid and painting of boot lid £149.98

21.05.2014 Japspeed stainless steel de-cat exhaust system (myself) £121.95

10.06.2014 Ignition coil replacement (myself) £41.90

30.07.2014 K&N air filter service (myself) £11.15

26.08.2014 Distributor cap & rotor arm replacement (myself) £36.57

08.09.2014 Magnecor fast road 8mm ignition leads (myself) £87.94

28.12.2014 NGK Iridium spark plug replacement (myself) £27.99

08.01.2015 Diagnostic check & ignition coil replacement (AW Autotech) £302.18

08.02.2015 Ignition module replacement (myself) £56.97

25.02.2015 Fitment of two new Toyo Proxes rear tyres (Nationwide) £188.16

09.03.2015 Engine oil & filter replacement (myself) £22.43

09.03.2015 Magnetic sump drain plug fitment (myself) £5.42

14.04.2015 Windscreen repair (Optic-Kleer) £68.88

14.09.2015 Front drop links; Mintex brake discs & pads (John McCombie) £327.18

Waxoyl treatment of floor, subframes, suspension components, and cavities (Kirkton Motor Body Repairs) ~£170 cash payment

01.12.2015 Fuel filter replacement (myself) £12.99

22.01.2016 Engine oil and filter replacement (myself) £29.40

Lambda sensor replacement (myself)

13.05.2016 O/S front caliper replacement (Church St Garage) £180.83

25.05.2016 Fitment of two new Toyo Proxes front tyres (Nationwide) £121.60

25.05.2016 Headlight bulb (myself) £5.00

01.07.2016 Rear drop link (x 2) replacement (John McCombie) £49.98 + Fitting

01.07.2016 Steering rack boot gaiter replacement (John McCombie) £8.50 + Fitting

01.07.2014 Drive shaft seal (x2) and fully synthetic transaxle oil (John McCombie) £29.99 + Seals + fitting

Please note that this car was a Cat C write off in February 2014. I wrote the car off shortly after I got it by putting it backwards into a field. The O/S door and sill were damaged as pictured. The damage pictured is historic and has been repaired to a high standard. I sourced a rust free replacement door and a rust free replacement sill from GTS Chris and had the damage repaired at NE Autobody. I had the wheel alignment checked shortly after I got the car back on the road, just to check that it was straight(!) and it was.

Offers please. I really want to turn this car into £££ as want to buy a set of wheels with tyres for my MX5. I will consider any reasonable offer.

What a bargain. All the spend and under a grand. They look so good in white too. If I was in the market for another this would be worth a look for sure.

This is still for sale and is still only £. It's been sitting now for some months and the brakes are binding on a bit. Otherwise it is as described. The MOT expires in a couple of weeks so, if you are interested, it would be sensible to buy it before the MOT expires, so that you can drive it home!

No - it is still sitting on my drive. It is without an MOT now and the brakes are sticking on. I would let it go for £.
