[Mk2] [Turbo] Front Window Seal

Post by JLW »

Hi Guys

Just a recommendation question really,
after my recent full re-spray I cheaped out and
told the body shop to use the same front window seal.

However its now popping out, and need to buy another one.
any recommendations on where to get one from ?

thanks,

J.

I'd always try TCB parts first…. Give Trevor a call and see if he can help. Good luck.

As above, they're still available from Mr T. Around £80 if memory serves.

I had a cracked windscreen replaced last year and they used a new seal. Looks like the proper Toyota seal and some months later that came out along the driver side A pillar. Bit of a clue it had not been fitted properly was a bit more wind noise when driving 40-50mph+ day after it was fitted. Couldnt work out the change in wind noise as it looked flush all round.

Hi Guys

done my research and it appears no where except Toyota supply this unfortunately, so for now my body shop are going to try bonding it back in to see if that holds. if not then ill have to bite the bullet.

TCB dont supply :(

I ordered mine from Toyota when replacing my windshield. I don't remember it being over £100. I'd say just bite the bullet because you're only prolonging the issue. :thumleft:

So took the car down to DPM and have sickaflexed the seal back in,
managed to get a nice smooth job done and hasn't caused any issues so far.
if this doesnt work then of course ill have to bite the bullet and get a new seal.

but so far so good :thumleft:

You've just had a respray and couldn't stomach paying £80 for a new seal?

I'm afraid it wasn't £80 mate , only Toyota do it
And it's £130 ! Plus at the moment said re-spray cost
Me and couldn't afford anything else. So to be able to
Drive it I did what I could. It's working absolutely fine atm.
So until it isn't it's a good fix.
