1998 Sonic Shadow Rev 5 N/A - DROP £2500 ono.

Post by kurkjones »

Selling or open to swaps is my Sonic Shadow.
(The alloys in the pictures will not be included as they are sold)

MOT - May 2016.
Mileage - 90k.
Age - 1998.

Timing belt done at 78K.

3 previous owners.

Mods
---

-Alpine door speakers.
-Japspeed backbox.
-Pipercross Induction Kit.
-Pioneer FHX range double din radio with handsfree.
-New front calipers last year.
-Standard alloys with tyres. (2k miles done).
-Yellow floor mats.
-Front and rear strut braces.
-Gas prop on engine bay lid.

-Comes with original backbox and also will throw in a Toms High Level air scoop for the passenger side wrapped in M3 carbon.

Extra
---

-New Clutch and Speedo Sensor Feburary 2015.
-New alternator August 2014.
-Full leather interior.
-T-bar feature, including shades and bags for glass panels.
-Twotone metallic paint (silver/black).
-Rev5 spoiler.
-Rev5 taillights.

---

These Sonic Shadows are getting rarer and rarer and the paint job on them is wicked. We all know these cars turn heads no matter what, imagine the potential.

Like I said, open to swaps. Ideally I am looking for a rev3+ turbo. Depending on condition we can come to some agreement, cash your way or my way. Or none at all.

Thanks again!

I think you're almost best off getting a short loan and sticking these 2 cars into storage until spring.

2500 is very strong money for an NA, like 3k for a rev 1 turbo (that's rev 3 prices) ....... but that is a superb looking example - and I think you'll get nearer prices in spring / summer when people are looking for these. Market opens right up when weather improves.

Maybe a load of tosh, but just my 2p. GLWS though :thumleft:

I think his prices are more than fair. Refusing to budge on price is what we all need to do. Rev3 tubbys are up for 4-5k at the moment (maybe the odd one or two for less) you'd be hard pushed to find one under 3k. Can't argue with waiting till spring though! We all need to keep our prices up as it devalues the cars accepting rubbish offers. If we all refused to budge on price then the value goes up , with that said I couldn't even shift my rev3 tubby for £2300 two years ago!

Totally agree shep and they'll continue to rise, guess it's just pot luck. Deffo a summer car though. When I was looking at my first one all my Mrs mates were winding her up telling her they're called "the widowmaker" lol. Anyhow I'm waffling. Love the sonic shadow model so all the best :thumleft:

My missus is terrified of mine! Although she hates the bike(s) even more!!

Don't get me wrong, there are cheap mr2s knocking about but they are cheap for a reason. I have a friend holding out for the right rev3 tubby at the moment, he says he would rather pay over the odds for the right one. Keeping the prices up keeps the chavs away :)

£2500 is a very fair price for a Rev5 Sonic in *good* condition. I was offered more than that for mine a few months ago (wasn't selling though!). As others have said, the market does move quicker once we're through winter.
