FOR SALE: 700BHP+ FULL ROAD LEGAL, ROAD WORTHY MK2 TURBO

Post by V8Killer »

The time has come to sell my pride and joy.

I’ve owed it since 2004. The base car is a Rev 3 GTS T-Bar, however has since been extensively modified.

The spec list is massive, so i am likely to add to this as I remember.

The engine is built around a TTE block as used by the original GT4 3SGTE, which went on to win many a World Rally Championship. The block is easily capable of 1200 BHP if required, without issue of cracked cylinder walls.

This engine has currently around 7000 miles on it, since being built in around 2007. The first 2500 of which were the running in miles. The total mileage of the chassis is just a shade under 80,000 kilometers.

The car revs to 9000 rpm without issue whilst still making power, thanks to 9:1 a CR (unheard of on a turbocharged car back in 2007).

The car is mapped by Dave Rowe using probably one of stingiest dyno’s in the country, yet still made huge power. I spent a lot of time with Dave Rowe both dyno mapping and road mapping to get it pretty much spot on.

The engine starts up first time, idles a bit rough from cold, but once warms up idles at 1000rpm and runs perfectly. Though it isn’t exactly road friendly at low revs, with an extremely sharp clutch and throttle response, it takes some getting used to. But once mastered, it becomes second nature and a dream to drive.

This engine since being built hasn’t missed a beat pull after pull on the Dyno and still drives home immaculately.

In its current state the car makes anything between 350 BHP to 720 BHP depending on boost, which is adjustable via a Motec Rotary Switch.

As has been said, the car needs nothing done to it. It has just had a fresh MOT. The car is religiously serviced between 2000-3000 miles without fail, only using Millers Oils.

The car currently has no speakers nor stereo, however if i meet the asking price or very close to it, i can arrange to have something basic installed. However, if you’d prefer a roll cage fitted, i can arrange this with Patrick @ Rogue Systems, only if i meet my asking price.

The car has run 10.6 in its current state back in 2010 and is easily a 9 second car if more time can be spent on stripping it out, making it a dedicated drag car.

On the other hand and in my personal opinion, this car will make for an excellent race track car to enter the MR2 series championships or a Time Attack series.

The car has been with Patrick @ Rogue for the best part of 18 months and I have just spent (June, 2015) over £3000 with Rogue for a full fuel system refresh replacing most of the lines, clutch refresh and loads of other odds and sods.

Any viewing welcome, i am based in Coventry, or I would be happy to meet at Rogue’s place if that is more convenient.

You'd be hard pushed to find a more complete MR2 then this. Considering it has a potential 700BHP+ on tap it has total road manners, yet TOTAL BRUTALITY when pushed.

To give you an example we made a round trip of over 300 miles to a 30MPH-130MPH Mitsubishi Evo day, came 7th on the day and 3rd in the top speed run (was still pulling at over 180MPH but ran out of road). This car never missed a beat.

For those that haven’t seen the youtube video of it on the dyno, take a look and listen to this (put the speakers up, though sounds better in person):

Test drives will be carried out by myself ONLY. No cowboys, tyre kickers or jokers. This is a serious piece of kit, which can go horribly wrong in the wrong pair of hands.

A friend of mine runs an export business, so getting a container and delivering abroad is an option, if need be.

£15,995 ONO (May take something up to £6,000 if i like it. Must have 4 seats.)

I defo dont have the money for this but am interested in a few details to help with my build, first the TTE engine, is this from the WRC st205 by chamce or an aftermarket thing?
Also what width tyres are you running to keep that grounded?
Did you strengthen the chassis or does the tbar hold up well?

My plan is a massive power tbar build hence the last question but there seems to be a vicious rumour that a tbar wouldnt hold well in a big power build :eye:

Think one of the 1st mr2s to go into the 9's was a T-Bar :-k

I seriously wouldn't worry too much about that, unless you are racing round a track, which in a high powered mr2 isn't such a great idea

Back on topic, it's a sad day you have decided to sell up V8Killer, read and learned from many of your posts over the years, bet you are going to miss her when gone, what plans next ?

From a ST205 WRC Car :D ... but the water / oil ways re-worked.

R888s, 225/45/16s at the rear ... The Racelogic TC does seems to work overtime even in the dry - sounds the nuts though

So far its held up fine, considering its a T-Bar. If your tracking i would recommend a roll cage.

Hi Martin,

i have a small family now and to be honest, the car just sits around doing nothing for most of the year, apart from taking up space and getting it in the ear from the misses.

I've had a number of cars since though. I had 700BHP Evo IX, which went to Germany, a GTR (cheap), new M3 (fantastic), a 335D (best of the bunch), a Q7, which we just sold.

Am just tootling around in a 2005 Focus

Nothing on the horizon as of yet.

WRC long block assembly is no different from non-WRC ST205 3S-GTE..

I'm pretty sure he means a genuine WRC block, like, one built by TTE.. not a celica gt4 "wrc" homologation special block.. which as peter said is just a plain old regular 3Sgte

Oh right, thats rubbish
I had read on a GT4 forum that these blocks were handpicked for the 2500 WRC homologation models that were made, i wondered why they would even bother for a car that was circa 10-15hp+

Sorry for jacking the thread buddy, GLWTS :thumleft:

Its a "proper" WRC block made by TTE themselves, used for about 200 miles on a actual WRC rally. Differences are massive compared to a road going ST205 one.

So, to save confusion, it's a TTE block.

You still lurk around these ends James

Family man and that now. Been around in a Q7 4.2 TDI re-mapped. Wasn't bad for a bus. Just got rid of that and now running like the Flintstones in a little Focus with my small family 8)
