TPMS - Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

Post by Peter Gidden »

OK IMOC members – got a very special offer for you.

This product is not yet available in the UK, and I am currently the sole UK importer. I have already installed this system on a car, and it works like a dream.

Background

I wanted a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System for the Noble. My priorities were:

  • Small, compact display (most I found were the size of a sat-nav)
Simple, easy to read display (something off the USS Enterprise not necessary)
Fully programmable (most I found were preset to low 25psi and high 45psi). Noble tyre pressures are as low as 19psi.

Stack do exactly what i wanted - but at an eye-watering £2400!

The Solution

So, after months of searching, I found just what I was looking for.

Features:
  • Display unit is compact – size of a matchbox
Real time display of all 4 tyre pressures and temperatures
Warning pressures programmable from 0 to 50psi
Warning temperature programmable (great for track day cars)
Pressures displayed in psi or bar
Simple connection – just ignition live and earth
Internal or external sensors – no cost option
4-5 year battery life from sensors
Warnings for: low pressure. high pressure, rapid deflation and high temperature
Warnings are both visual display (flashes red) and aural with self-contained alert sound

..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

If you see an MR2 with a raised engine cover, the bottom line is it's probably faster than your car.

Silly question but can the external sensors be secured?? People have a habit of stealing anything and everything down here

Could go on the inside of the wheel? Im curious though as to why would you want an external sensor when internal ones are available...

Surely this would bypass your issue of thieving bu88ery?

External sensors lock onto the valve thread. But i guess if someone tried hard enough, they would get it off.

External sensors are good for track day guys - easy to change from one set of wheels to another.
