Project REV5 Turbo ............ Lots of big changes

Post by alan_uk »

some of you and ever since i sold it i have may remember me from my previous rev5 regretted it every single day :(

so i decided to give the wife my a4 s-line i bought as it was just sooo boring and look for another rev5

i looked at a few but decided i wanted a t-bar this time as ive never had 1

i found this for sale for £2600 but after a lot of squabbling and haggling i got it down to £1800, how im not quite sure but i did lol

car is a 1999 t reg rev5 uk N/A
had a few extras including ice cold air con (not needed these days lol)
toyota factory cup holders
private plate which i really like
full 3 month old mongoose decat from rogue which was less than 3 onths old
full service history every 8000 miles from new up to date
last service less than 600 miles ago it had cambelt water pump clutch and 3 brand new callipers and the 4th refurbed with new discs and pads

aswell as original bill of sale all 3 original keys inc master key (grey) 2 remote locking fobs

all speakers have been upgraded to jbl which sound really nice

it has had new t-bar rubbers fitted 500 miles ago so no leaks this was done at toyota

and what was an added bonus the leather is immaculate

106000 mileson it all old mot's to back it up
hpi'd clear with no dark secrets and the body is very straight no dents or rust at all

anyway ill stop waffling on here is some pics

havn't wasted any time on this mind as its already underway getting it to how i want it

first things i did was ordered all the little bits n bobs i wanted to change over

bought a set of 3 month old rota torque staggered 17"s in white
fronts are 8x17 with 215/40/17 toyo t1r's
rears are 9.5x17 with 235/40/17 yokohama parada spec II

all tyres are brand new and had brand new center caps

for a bargain £360 posted

another thing i quickly got myself was a turbo engine cover and tray to stop any water damage

as you have probably noticed by now its a little pink but ive already got it booked in to the bodyshop were i work for a full respray in 3e5 super red II in 2 weeks time, as the car itself is actually a colour called sunfire red from the factory which may of been an extra ??

few other things i have done since getting

nothing major just little touches

changed the clock to red
Image
Image

changed the dials to red
Image

fitted a push button start/stop from a range rover evoque (functional also)
Image
Image

ordered a new gear knob thats here ready to fit along with brand new black leather gear and handbrake gaitors

also fitted led map lights

Image
Image

also fitted my own stereo with usb port
Image

i have my momo race 320mm wheel ready to go in just waiting for delivery of my momo boss

also ordered from mr2bitz
import front number plate holder
new inner door handle cups and screws as mine were cracked

also awaiting delivery of an import rear bumper as i prefer the look

and had to replace the panel below steering wheel as this 1 had a switch cut in for the ariel so it could be put up and down by choice but i intend on removing it altogether so i didnt need that :) but thats done now

few other things on order and awaiting delivery are

genuine rev5 new clear front sidelights/indicators
clear side repeaters the frosted style 1's
led number plate lights
led reverse light bulbs
depo racing 60mm oil pressure gauge
greddy oil sandwich plate
stainless cancer bars from ebay
new luxury velour tailored mats
an ebay special alloy front strut brace lol

and thats pretty much it for now

i also have a pair of new bosche aero flat wipers to fit
and a pair of new volvo s40 fan washer jets

my new black wheel nuts arrived today so can get wheels fitted

and she is good to go

paint wise i have a few ideas in mind

as said full car is going super red
thinking of doing the rear light center panel, front splitter, blade and end caps of spoiler all gloss black

wheels are staying white

and going to fully de-badge
remove ariel and smooth
cut side vents to single hole

apart from that car is staying as is :)

looking to buy single 60mm gauge pillar pod from guttzler i think he is called sorry if thats wrong :O

but yea all good and happy to be back

1 thing i was sad about is that we were denied planning permission to build a garage on the side of our house even though there is plenty of room the ground is 10 foot built up with lattice concrete and soil so they wanted £11000 to plant some steel tubes in to the ground to fill with concrete to reinforce it which we declined lol

so we had the front lawn dug up and graveled so we could put both cars on that and set up my constant recording cctv on them :D

Image

so i have piece of mind that way and its also linked to my phone so can view it from any country in the world at any time :D

Colour definitely looks unusual man. What is the paint code on the plaque?

Glad to see how much you love the '2 :D going to look great when you've spruced it up a bit I reckon. Don't fancy a more exciting shade of red though??
