Altezza SXE10 3SGE Beams

Post by Donato »

As some of you may have seen, the MR2 is being broken. A new job forces me to break it as i won't be able to run two cars.

However, i've gone and bought a faster car witch doesn't leak through the T-Bar!

It's a Toyota Altezza Beams Blacktop Manual - 210 BHP

Imported in 2010 so it is immaculate. No rust to be seen!

TRD Lightened Flywheel
TRD Clutch
TRD Front Under Body Bracing
TRD Rear Under Body Bracing
TRD Coolant Cap
TRD Braided Brake Lines
Cusco Front Strut Brace
Kansai Services Rear Strut Brace
HKS RS200 Super Power Flow Filter
HKS Super Header Type II
HKS Centre Pipe
Project Mu Brake Pads
Altezza Digital Cluster
Tein Street Flex Coilovers
Rays Alloy M-08 Type R 17x7J +42

Theres a couple of bits that need doing to it, but i'm too busy driving it for now

That is sexy...always thought about one of these myself.

That motor should be bags of fun!

I've always fancied one of these if I ever had to run something 'practical' done a fair few miles in an IS200 a few years back and was pretty nice.

Always wondered how quick the altezza was in comparison to a tubby.

The noise it makes is unreal!

Couldn't comment on how fast it is compared to a tubby, but it's considerably quicker than my old non-turbo. I think it'd give it a good run though!

Ive had a beams red top, rev2 turbo and rev3 turbo and id say the turbos are way ahead as the vvti doesnt kick in til after 4k rpm or so. Solid engines though!

Those wheels are sexy as hell Donato

I tried to fit my GramLights on the Altezza, but the offset is just too aggressive for them. They don't really like anything less than ET40 without arch work!

First modification to do, put it back onto Japanese plates. They improve the look of the car so much.

Then it was a case of replacing the really dirty air filter. So a new HKS Super Power Flow Filter ordered in green and fitted.

And fitted!

I also attended a rolling road day at Tuning Developments. North West Toyota specialists. I only really went because i wanted to see how healthy the engine was.

No Altezza's make the book figures, which is a shame. But something i learnt on the day.

Tuning Developments have had a few different Altezza's in and they have made power ranging from 150-170bhp @ the flywheel.

They ran mine and it ran really well. 175.5bhp @ the flywheel. The most powerful Altezza they have had in, and the runs were really consistent too!

I've uploaded a video to YouTube so you can see. The speedo is in MPH btw

Bought a few things from work today. New genuine discs front and rear. The ones fitted were badly lipped, wouldn't suprise me if they were still the original ones!

Also cleaned up the Project Mu pads whilst i was there. I wanted to know which variant they were so i know what to order when they get low.

It's just a case of bedding them in again now, but already they feel miles better than they did!

Also purchased a new bonnet stand mount for the broken one, nothing too exciting

A new modification!

New exhaust time. I've purchased a HKS Silent Hi-Power! Give it a bit of a spit polish and fitted it. Very quiet, but it's improved the mid range revs more.

Still yet to get a video of it!
