Toyota Only Trackday - Blyton park - Saturday 19th July

Post by Ben »

Javelin Trackdays are holding a 'Toyota-only' trackday at Blyton park on Saturday July 19th. The Toyota Sprint Series are currently running a competitive event at Blyton Park on Sunday 20th July, and according to Colin there has been a fair amount of interest from competitors in a track-day thereso they can get to know the track etc.

Colin has agreed to open up Saturday 19th July at Blyton Park as a ‘Toyota Only’ track day. We couldn’t restrict it to just MR2s unfortunately due to potential number issues, but Colin is taking bookings for TOYOTAS ONLY UNTIL THE END OF MAY. If there are spaces available after that he will open the day up to the general public to ensure the day is viable, which I think is fair enough. A typical day at Blyton runs between 45-54 cars and so far the only people who know about this are you lovely lot! So come on everyone, get booking!

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

I've gone camera crazy. Missed way too much decent footage trusting the old go pro. I've hard wired these little puppies, and am going to stick the GoPro for the cockpit cam. All controlled from a single switch :)

Then I can overlay the data logger capture using RaceRender. I have loads of friends....

If you can't see the front one, look really closely at the number plate

Low?! Blyton is one of the most lenient in the UK! Your car can't be that loud, surely? :-k

When Chris borrowed a sound meter from the Navy, it measured 110db at 4,500rpm.

When we tested it at Elite, it hit 130db at the redline (engine is too old and too high mileage to bounce of the limiter)

I wouldn't be prepared to risk £140 on it!

On the slim chance that the 'Toyota Only' condition is dropped, I'd absolutely love to bring along a big noisy V8 (after having it sound checked...) for you to test yourselves against ;)

How many spaces are there, and presume you'll post here if it's full?

no sound test at blyton.. only a sound meter you drive past on track.. after what was there last time.. you won't break the noise limit :)

but i'd love a passenger ride please

According to Colin, a typical day at Blyton involves between 45 and 54 cars. Currently there are 17 cars paid up with (at a guess) another ten or so who will do in the next few weeks. If it does fill up I'll let you know, but as things stand I doubt it'll fill up with Toyotas. Interest from the non-MR2/GT86 clubs is less than I'd hoped :(

Oh wait I don't think I can make it in July...
