I was thinking of removing the boot lock barrel and putting it there if possible and it will work being off centre. Half the time my car looks abandoned in the work carpark!

Sorry, i have to completely disagree.
The only difficulty when reversing I find is when you can't see the boot lid to get the distance, which clearly isn't the case in a 2.'2. My daily Honda Accord is worse to park. 
& rear cctv cameras recording to sd disk

I do not have the measles. -- 2016 But I can't see the white lines without lowering one of the side mirrors which is painfully slow! - I'm used to driving vans so sticking my head out the door is second nature.
