mr2 mk3 intermediate power steering fault

can any 1 help, I have an mr2 mk3 1999 import and it has started to have an intermediate power steering fault, there are no warning lights on the dash but the power steering just stops working, would any 1 have any idea as to what I could be?

It'll be (surprise surprise) the power steering pump on the way out. Very common, especially of that age, get it swapped for a new one and all will be good again.

Ok cheers bud will look into it. Just i would of thought ps light would of come on but it hasent. So dident think it would the pump?

Sometimes, not always though. Be worth checking the fluid too, if you haven't already.

Does any 1 know if the power steering pump is the same in the early modle and the late modle? I have a 1999 V reg

Have a look at the steering uj at the bottom of the coloum under the front plastics. I would go on mr2roc for more info
