Let me say first off I have no experience in turbos but sometimes a layman suggestion is better than nothing.

Quite often it seems that little errors that cause no CEL are ignition related, or dirty sensors/groundings. In this case, I reckon it might be worth checking over your ignition components.

Give the MAF a clean and reset the ECU which you might have done already

under the hood it has extra earth cables, ive done the maf, no luck. i will check coils tonight etc, then im going to to compression weekend and gut cats, if theyre not gutted already.
it seems weird to me as limp mode is 4.5k rpm im told? no cel warning neither which is weird, can you do a paperclip trick on diagnosis port on jap imports?

cheers for the help

You can check for error codes using a paperclip yeah. It will give you flashes on the dash indicating an error code, if you have one.

Jam a clip into TE1 and E1. It may or may not give you something.

ok, bridged 4 and 13, and got steady flashes of abs light, im assuming thats all clear, surely if it was something electrical like a sensor it would throw a fault up?

Check the condition of the precats by taking out one or both o2 sensors shine a torch in and inspect, if they are not there it has either been decatted or the remnants are in the main cat causing loss of power and maybe engine destruction, if the main cat is blocked im sure I have a decat pipe somewhere for you to try
