Hi. I have a mk1 but thinking of getting a roadster but there seems to be talk of the usually bullet proof Toyota unit going pop on a regular basis,so im looking to find out the script on this before buying. thanks!

Do a search for pre-cat failure and all will be revealed, the consensus appears to be to go for a post 2003 model and you will be fine.

As said, if you can afford buy a facelift model if not you will have to do all the checks etc
If your near Norwich you can have a look at mine and go for a spin and we will go through what to look at, Ive had mine for 13 years now with no problems
