REV 1 GT - @ Back Home

Post by CRAIGROBBO »

Hi All,

I'm Craig from Northumberland and I have decided to get back in to the MR2 scene after owning a G-LTD a few year back which I loved driving.

This was my old G-Ltd

This time I'm going to be looking for a turbo.....

Hope to find one in the next couple of weeks, try and have some fun before our weather turns crap lol.

Should be approx 700 mile round trip gave or take and a few hundred quid the time I add fuel/hotel/hire car etc but iv wanted a turbo for 7 years and got a good feeling about the one iv secured! It also has big power potential thanks to the previous owners specification.

That does look pretty cool, I've got a set of rev2 lights I've polished up.

They look well smart on the car. In fact your car looks very similar to how mine looked back in 2012. :thumleft:

Hi Gaz,

Well I have a few plans but just going to enjoy her as is this year.

Tomorrow will be polishing day! Not that it needs it of course.

Future plans.

Bigger turbo or stage 2 hybrid CT20B and more boost.

BMIC set up with puller fans.

Nothing to be done in the looks department! Iv already had people asking questions at my local pub & petrol station lol!...

Hi All,

So today I fitted a new Amp to power the subwoofer so the install is all working correctly now. The Sub is behind the passanger seat, gave my lass a fright when I turned it up loud lol...

Now I need some advice....

I want to change the turbo and go for more power but not 100% sure exactly what I will need.

Turbo (which one?)
Injectors (type & cc)
Will the rev 3 ecu handle a larger turbo or will I need a stand alone ecu?.

Other bits n bobs??

Cheers Craig

Ah- so that's your car then! I was wondering, very nice- you've done well.

Is the engine stock at the moment? Fair bit you can do to it before you start spending lots of money...how much power are you thinking of?

Hi Ashley,

The current engine spec is below and the aim is to get her to 400bhp which should be a safe figure based on the engines build specification.

Wiseco 86mm 9:0:1 forged pistons
Eagle con rods
Clevite big end and main bearings, and thrust washers
Arp head and rod bolts
Rev3 metal head gasket
New oem oil pump
New blueprint water pump
New cam belt and tensioners
Head overhauled with valves reseated

fully reconditioned ct20b turbo with a forge motorsport 0.9 bar actuator less than a year ago, that was overhauled by turbo rebuild in Birmingham.

It’s running a rev3 inlet manifold/throttle body, modified to suit the earlier head
Rev3 management and Fuelling conversion
Running 1.1 bar on bkr7e plugs
Gizzmo ms-ibc
Decat with support bracket
Phoenix power departure exhaust
Apexi induction kit
Ngk leads
Xs power style intercooler with block off plate
Walboro 255 lph fuel pump
Bored out xxxx rev2 fuel rail
Brand new Alloy radiator
