Unfortunately yes with the exception:

JDM mica blue cars. Most have black interior though some have the horrible blue.

t-bars with leather have a black interior.

If it helps i know how you feel as i had a mica blue with blue interior and my white MK1 also had the hideous blue interior. Even silver cars get it too!

Have a red MK1 now, with black interior.

Black is rare tbh.

Any t-bar with leather will have a black interior.

Failing that for a cloth interior red is your safest bet.

Oh it is. Its absolutely dreadful. My first two MK1s had a blue interior, never again, just couldn't bear it in the end.

What colour interior is your SC?

It's horrid! And my Dad has banned me from changing it, so I'm stuck with the damn thing!

To make matters worse I was planning to get mine redone at the same place as Jo did (Tango). They've made an absolutely superb job of it and they are only half an hour from my house..

Jay, my interior will be for sale eventually, if you end up falling in love with a blue car!

It's a pity the leather seats go so manky (mine aren't too bad and have come up quite well with a good bit of hide feed and polish), as the black leather interior in the T-bars is pretty classy and smart looking, IMO.

The blue velour interior, otoh, reminds me of the mk4 Ford Cortina for some bizarre reason....

when I was looking to buy my first mk1 i deffinately didnt want a blue interior and rejected several on this basis alone, when we used to build corollas with blue interior i couldn't think why anyone would spec this option or even buy a corolla for that matter   but now 18 months on from buying a white 1b with blue interior just to get me by until i found the right car i now quite like the blue and wouldn't mind at all if my next one was blue lifes a bit weird like that

Blue Interior

Post by JMR_AW11 »

Mica Blue is the best colour for the mk1b IMO, but I have to agree that the blue interior is HIDEOUS.

I drive a mica blue mk1 every day and I cringe each time I get in it and look at the blue plastic interior.

It looks even worse from the passenger side.

I also have a red mk1 with a black interior and this is MUCH better.

Think I must be the odd one out here....

I've a Mica Blue Coupe and I actually LIKE the blue interior!

Maybe its cos it's just so classically 80's! :D

Seriously the blue interior is tragic 80s..... after 4 years of MK1s with blue interiors i could take no more, hence the red one with black interior.

It could be worse i guess, ie beige but thats not a factor for UK cars.

every time we build a corolla with the "ivory" couloured interior I picture a fat middledaged man with grey slipon shoes and pastel coloured socks driving it thats truely hideous

I agree with Jiff, classic 80's interior in any colour but especially blue! I had a 1987 Supra which was gold and bronze two tone on the outside and brown interior, that was too much for me and I had to sell after less than a year. #-o

I'll probably have a black interior going for peanuts within the next couple of months (once I finish the tubby and get on with my Mk1 plans) - is Mica the dark blue? If so mine is Mica with a black interior, perforated leather seats/door cards, looks ok, a bit worn but probably better than blue by the sounds of it!
