[Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo still not working

Wonder if anyone can help me speedo stopped working On the way home when I brought my car so I replaced my speedo sensor and the connector that goes in to sensor still Didn't work so belled out the wires to see if there is a connection there and there was so replaced the gauges and still no luck Anyone got any ideas thanks

Do you know the speedo sensor works?

Was told it works other than that mate nope

OK, so possibly faulty.

You "belled out" the wires. Did you check for 12V and earth at two of the pins in the plug?

Yes mate had 12v there other 2 wires go to my dials one purple one brown what it is the cars a uk shell with a turbo engine so it's been chopped in

check wiring.

If wiring is good, remove the sensor from the box, still plugged in and turn anti clockwise with a drill. if it doesn't work its the sensor.

Do you have a speedo converter? (kph to mph)

Mine did this and I went through the same as you until I realised it was the converter (behind the dials).

I removed it and all was well.

Was not speedo sensor or gauges must be in the gearbox as speedo sensor on a drill made speedo go up any ideas?

I have the same problem with my rev 3.

The clocks are reading something (wobbles alot) until it gets up to temperature and then it shows nothing. Checked wiring and clocks. Replaced speed sensor. Still happens. So im going to get the gearbox looked at and see if the sensor is being turned properly by the diff. Sounds like the same problem to yours mate

And similar to what Luke said, dont take that as gospel!

No idea, im not the most mechanically minded despite the username!

Im thinking about getting the gearbox reconditioned. Should solve this problem and also my 2nd and 3rd gear crunches.
