OK, so possibly faulty.
You "belled out" the wires. Did you check for 12V and earth at two of the pins in the plug?

check wiring.
If wiring is good, remove the sensor from the box, still plugged in and turn anti clockwise with a drill. if it doesn't work its the sensor.
Er, first rule of life, don't believe everything people tell you!

Good advice!
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo still not working
Do you have a speedo converter? (kph to mph)
Mine did this and I went through the same as you until I realised it was the converter (behind the dials).
I removed it and all was well.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo still not working
Was not speedo sensor or gauges must be in the gearbox as speedo sensor on a drill made speedo go up any ideas?
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo still not working
I have the same problem with my rev 3.
The clocks are reading something (wobbles alot) until it gets up to temperature and then it shows nothing. Checked wiring and clocks. Replaced speed sensor. Still happens. So im going to get the gearbox looked at and see if the sensor is being turned properly by the diff. Sounds like the same problem to yours mate
And similar to what Luke said, dont take that as gospel!

No idea, im not the most mechanically minded despite the username!
Im thinking about getting the gearbox reconditioned. Should solve this problem and also my 2nd and 3rd gear crunches.
