Tinted windows ?

Post by Scotty »

Do all Mr2's come standard with tinted windows or is it just the imports ?

Im going to take mine off as there as a big bubble in it & a big calder motors sticker in the back

Also as anyone actually had their windows tinted ?

What sort of job did they do as the rear window is a awkward shape ?

My rear quarters are tinted, I think it's only the rear quarters and back window you can tint legally nowadays anyway....

I'd say none come with tinted windows (beyond the normal tint) as standard.

Tinting the rear quarters and the rear window is popular in hot countries as it cuts down heat and glare, a lot of Jap cars tend to have this.

Me and 2 mates did all my windows (bar the front one of course  )

Did them in dark smoke. The back one was pretty easy actually, no real probs.

Looks awesome and only cost me £25

Got tints all round (except windscreen) they are quite dark, see profile for pics. This is how the car came, got silver tints on top.......soon to be replaced they cut out a lot of glare and are really handy in summer

Passes MOT fine

I had the T bar glass done with my windows. The car didn't look right without the roof done IMO. Think it cost around £200 all in but that includes a lifetime guarantee. If they start to peel off or something they will replace for free.

They have been on for about 2 years now without any problems :)

true..

i want some nice seats in mine, and i think it looks cool when you can see them through the windows..

plus if you get a roll cage, it gives off an image of being fast as f***

So thats it eh?

Nah I recon rear tints look sorted, you could still see your seats through the front and door windows.

ok, personal opinion.. tints aren't for me, and it attracts unwanted attention from the police

I've been pulled in the MR2 nothing said about tints, they can offer security if the special ones, plus people can't see in so well to eye up nickable bits!
