MR2 MK1 Challenge @ Mallory Park Sunday 14th

Post by AW11 Forever..! »

MR2 MK1 Challenge 2005
Mallory Park
Anyone interested in attending this event on the 14th for the latest round of the challenge. We are expecting 20 MK1 MR2's to be racing, what a sight thats going to be. Fred and Doris are the organisers and would appreciate as many members as possible to attend the day which is followed by a BBQ, can't get any better than that. Some members are staying at the Red Cow Innkeepers lodge on the Saturday night for a bit of a knees up if you are interested:

Mallory Park is only a short drive away from here I'm told. Anyway contact Fred if you want to attend on the day:

If anyone from the North area want to go then why not travel down together in convoy, theres 3 of us now as I've just had another person from Durham confirm, another Supercharger Tbar manual. This forum is amazing and works so quickly. We usually meet at Scotch Corner then Woodall services on the M1.
You will need to book your accommodation which can be done online, follow the link to the lodge in the previous postings.

Fantastic..!
Do we know roughly how many Superchargers are in the country, I've owned 4 different ones in the past. Well there will definately be a 1987 Tbar Auto in red and a white manual Tbar coming. Are you coming down to the Red Cow on Saturday night for a bit of a bender..! So far theres myself and Joanne, Mac Sheavills and his wife, Damon Herring and partner and of course Fred and Doris. I think the rooms are around £50 per night B & B.

I think there's actually going to be an official MK1 club presence there, I certainly remember talk of them hosting a barbecue...

And just so we're clear, it's the MR2 Challenge series now - there'll be 20 mk1s and 1 mk2....

...whopping their asses. \:D/

Haven't got a clue Mike. 50 rings a bell, does that sound right to you?

No, unfortunately not. I've been doing too much car related stuff recently, I've ignored all my friends. I did three days at JAE (Japanese Auto Extravaganza) in Peterborough two weeks ago and TOTB (Ten of the Best) at Elvington last weekend.

I need a weekend off!

And I've ended up with a great big job to do.

Richard has asked me to have a look at reorganising MR2Supercharger.com

Well I've had a look at what's involved  that is a BIG job!

Got to go now Mike, may be on line tonight, see ya...

We aimed to be there with it this year, but didn't get it finished in time. Will definitely be there next year.

It's not all about horsepower either - you mk1 boys should know this! - the car should still weigh around (or maybe even just under) a ton, and have at least 300 bhp at the wheels. \:D/

But moving back to the subject at hand... I'm REALLY looking forward to Mallory, it's been too long since Brands and I'm itching to have a go at the top three - George, Tony and Simon.

Patrick (it is Patrick isn't it :?),

I had no idea you were going to enter it for TOTB. That's brilliant news!
Will it produce as much power as the "Fensport Corolla"? That's a truly awesome device.

And as for our guys this year, well I was well impressed with their launches. Xxxx's car simply leapt off the line like a scalded cat! 1.5 second 60ft. So traction off the line isn't a problem at all. So that proves if you can build a really powerful engine and fit it in a Mk2 it will fly!

I heard the Fensport Corolla was putting out 600bhp. Do you know how many hp Xxxx's car is?

What kind of bhp are you looking at for your Mk3? Do you know if the MK3 will have as much traction off the line as a Mk2?

Really excited now for TOTB 2006

Go for it Patrick! :D
