Lambda sensor & Clutch

Post by 832ARK »

Hi

In the market for a Lambda sensor for my 98 rev 5, can i use a 4 wire universal with 18mm thread or do i need to buy the bolt on flange as well?

also where is the cheapest place to buy a decent, eg AP, standard clutch.

Cheers

Hey there,

to be honest your easiest bet might be looking through some of the ebay retailers to get an idea of whats about then look at their websites.

Try these for your lambda sensor

http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/lambda_sensors.php

You need the sensor and flange. About £40 inc P&P.

Fensport do the standard clutch for around £100 + VAT etc but any decent motor factor should be able to supply a standard clutch.
Any other Partco dealer can do the Bluprint version.

How do you know if you need to replace the sensor? My engine seems to be running at high revs when it starts up, then drops off when warmed up... Cheers

Its supposed to do that. When cold it should idle at 1500 to 1800 rpm which should drop after a few minutes to about 800 rpm.
You probably wont find out if the lambda sensor has gone till you go to get an MoT test, then if its gone the emissions will be really high. If it does go you will find you start to use more petrol and the car might not pull as smoothly.
