2010 is nearly with us so we are looking forward to the new season and we’re starting in the south this year with a Trackaction-Online club day at Brands Hatch on Feb 5th.

This will be an open pitlane trackday on the Indy circuit with a 105db noise limit. As usual we will be limiting the numbers to ensure that everyone gets plenty of tracktime and we will have free instruction available for any drivers that want it.

Brands is a great circuit, fast, flowing and very challenging so well worth a visit and we’ve got the usual club pricing available. The list price for the day is £150 but we’ve agreed a club rate of £125; passengers can be signed in for £10 and extra drivers for £35, garages can be pre-booked for £20.

Thanks to the support of clubs and forums like yours we’ve had a great 2009 and we’re hoping to carry that into next year so if you’d like to come along you can book HERE, if you post up on this thread I’ll PM you the discounted booking code.

Hope a few of you can make it along!

PS - If you are looking likely to end up with socks and yet another Clarkson DVD, it might be a good time to drop a few hints to the better half that this would make a good xmas pressie!

Here’s a few pics from our 2009 events -

Hi, I'd be very interested in this.

It says helmets are on hire for £10 but are motorcycle helmets ok as I've got one?

If you pay for a 2nd driver can the first driver ride as a passenger with them?

Helmets aren't checked on trackdays so you'll be fine with that and all drivers are fine to be passengers so no probs there either. [Very Happy]

I'll PM you the booking info and discount code.

Cheers Steve, I'm now all booked up for the 5th with the g/f insisting on being added as a 2nd driver.

Can't wait, this will be my first car trackday (I race bikes though so know my way round Brands indy like the back of my hand!)

I used to race bikes back in the 80s - I stick to cars now, they are harder to fall off [Laughing]

Mind you, if you don't fall off your not trying hard enough! [Razz]

This might be a stupid question but with bike trackdays I've always had a form to print out and bring with me.

What do I need to bring with me to this trackday apart from myself and my car?

So far I have:

Print out of receipt email
Driving licence
Helmet
Clothes that cover legs and arms
Fuel for the day
Basic toolkit
Foot pump (to adjust tyre preasures)

Is there anything I have missed? Will I require the cars V5? Some bike trackdays have started asking for this to reduce the use of stolen vehicles.

You won't need a V5 with you and the rest of your list looks about right. We will send out a drivers info pack by email about a week before the event with the forms you need and all the other details.

Hi guys

There's already one organised on MR2oc for the 31st March at half the price.

Hi Olly

I was about ready to sign up for that one myself when I saw your post! Then I realised that it's not actually half the price, there's no mention of instruction being available and it's only an evening event - not a full day. [d'oh!]

£69 for a evening at Brands isn't bad value but when trying to undercut another event it helps if you compare like with like. [Rolling Eyes]

Hey, that's not fair. I wasn't trying to undercut anyone. I was trying to get all the MR2 chaps together while pointing out the OC one was cheaper.

I didn't realise this one was a full day.

Turns out the OC one won't be £69 anyway, so with that factor in mind together with your attitude, I think it's best you stick to this one. [thumleft]

No worries Olly, I didn't mean to come over harsh but it makes us look bad if people think (wrongly) that other organisers are able to do events for half what we are charging - I just don't want to look like we are having anyone over when we basically run these club days for fun and we are lucky if they make any profit at all!

I see what you mean about the price change on the MSV day [Shocked] , I feel like we are a bit better value now [Very Happy]

the website that advertised the £69 evening event has now changed the date to bike only as if an error though i emailed them about it [Brick wall]

was going to go through a different organiser anyway, but after speaking to them today, its all come to light.

so offered this event as an option as well as some other days, but this does seem good value for money [Smile]
