PS3 Questions

Post by matt_mr2t »

Can you look at the net properly - IE like a proper PC?
Will I need a mouse and keyboard?

Has it got a video store like Xbox Live and can you download game demos?

Yes you can go on the net but IMO the browser is abit rubbish, its just an upscaled version on the PSP one. You can use the controller or get a usb mouse and keyboard. Not sure on bluetooth keyboards??

EDIT: bluetooth keyborads and mice do work but they seem to require external bluetooth dongles as the internal bluetooth wont pick them up, these are some that seem to be popular.....

You can download games and demos aswell, online play is free aswell :thumleft:

No the 40gb wont play PS2 games, only the 60gb could, thats why there was a mad rush for them before christmas when they stopped making them. Theres talk of a 80gb version coming though which i believe can play some PS2 games.

Phew.

It definately has a couple of perks and a couple of set backs over the 360.

I like the fact it's wireless. I like the way you can plug the controller into the console to charge it.
I dont like that there's no headset in the box though and there's no rumble on the controller I believe.

Any way, got a few hours before I can play any way so I'll give my assessment on that later.

It is a shame they took away the PS2 game play and you lose 2 usb ports with the 40gb.

There are official dual shock controllers available but they will set you back £30-40. The controller is very light and at first feels cheap, god knows where the battery is, there that light.

one person on my freinds list got a official dualshock 3 of ebay for 31 quid delivered in a week
if any one wants the sellers name i can pm it 4 you
the internet is rather good if the servers (i guess) arent choca block
to play on the net you will probably have to do a update when you first turn the console on, this seems to take forever
the pictures on this site look really good of a tv than using a laptop on the net

Been playing Motorstorm a bit recently, Working my way through level 3 at the moment. It's a shame it didn't live up to all the hype surrounding it before the machine was launched. Looks great and it's a bit of a laugh with the bike, quad and rally car but most of the other vehicles are just too slow and ruin it imo.

GT5 Prologue: Pre-ordered :)
Engine rebuilt by: Steve Horrocks & Andy Jones
Engine mapped by: Ryan@2bartuning (330 bhp & 325 lbft @ 1.4 bar)
Current Status: F****D :(
