No, I'm not getting rid of the FTO, my dad wants to buy a MKII turbo (good man!) Any hints or tips on what we should be looking for? Whats the common things to wear on them and how much to fix.
I've already warned him to get a cambelt change done immediately, and we know about the leaky t-bar fix, because it worked on Steve's NA.
Should we expect it to smoke at all under acceleration/on startup?
He did mention that one he's thinking about has very little travel on the clutch pedal, only about 3 inches. He said he would have expected it to be more like 6 inches?? Is this just how they are or does it sound like a problem?
BTW, we're looking at rev 1, 2 or 3.

Hi,
Make sure the date on the seat belt tags match up with the cars year.
Make sure there are no holes where harnesses have been or maybe a rollcage.
But read Ben's site that has been recommended to you, its very good.
