Well, I have my Rev4 back and I am in the process of breaking it. I had this car for nearly 4 years, done 60,000 miles in it, and visited all corners of the UK from Cornwall to the Outer Hebrides. I'd grown quite attached to it to be honest. R310YKP (or Royksöpp, as my friend called it) served me well, so hopefully some of the parts will keep other MR2's on the road for years to come.
As I got Royksöpp:
I soon learnt a valuable lesson in wet weather greasy road handling:
But I fixed it:
I went on many an aventure with it:
Saw some pretty amazing places:
And as it was my daily, I made it work for whatever I needed it for:
And as I received it yesterday:
While it doesn't look like much, the rear alignment is way out, an engine or gearbox mount is broken / damaged, and the rear of boot is crumpled. Also, one of the T tops doesn't fit the same as it used to - it's much tighter to the point where it's quite difficult to lock it in place so unfortunately it's got somewhat twisted. Definitely not suitable to go back on the road, anyway.
So, the Rev 5! I'm picking it up tomorrow, and if it's anywhere near as good as the Rev4 was then I'll be very happy.
Here's some pictures from the ad:
I'll get some proper pictures once I have it, I don't think these ones really do it justice. Having a mod it / fix it day on Sunday with a friend who owns a T2 Camper - guess which ones being modded, and which ones being fixed?

Thanks man.
To be honest I'm a little apprehensive about it... My Rev4 felt so sorted to drive and I knew it so well. This one seems good, but there's a big difference between a test drive and having the car for a month and getting to know it! I'm sure it will be just as good, especially once I get the Advans refurbed and the Cusco adjustable strut braces on there!

Got it home on Saturday:
There's a few bits that need sorting. Rear drop links are shot, but at least that's a simple replacement.
The upwards facing exhaust mount is broken, so that needs to be sorted.
Central locking needs sorting - fob operates drivers door fine, passenger side doesn't open on the fob, or the button by the window switches. Shouldn't be too hard to sort really.
Plenty to get on with! Haven't had a chance to go out for some decent pics.
Oh, and turns out one of my Advans is cracked on the lip

New Rev5 looks nice. Hopefully you'll get your Advans repaired easily enough as they really suit your car.
Re: Gareth's 1999 Sonic Shadow Revision 5
Hopefully so. The tyres on the Rev5 wheels are bloody awful, so the sooner the Advans go back on the better!
Went out with a tripod and a torch, turned out alright:

Rev5 looks nice mate. Glad you're back on the horse so soon after!
Advans on that will set it off nicely.
Enjoy!

Thanks man. Advans will be going on hopefully in the next month or so. I don't want to change too much just yet until I've worked out all the little issues (hopefully not big issues!) and got those sorted.

Nice car.....
Re: Gareth's 1999 Sonic Shadow Revision 5
Dicking around with torches and long exposures:
Rear droplinks have been replaced, noise is still there. Pretty confident its nothing suspension related now as everything feels solid, doesnt move or twist when it's jacked up etc. There is a broken exhaust mount, so that's the next thing to do.
Gearbox is leaking a bit from the drivers side driveshaft. Bit of a pain in the ar$e, hopefully it's just the seal that needs replacing.

Cleaning up the JanSpeed exhaust off the Rev4. The backbox and exists were pretty much the same colour as the pipes. Not bad!

Momo Team wheel fitted:
Been a while since I've driven with this on, and it feels almost comically small. I like how it looks, but I am considering swapping it out for a more sensibly sized item.
And a few more general photos, because why not:
