A VISIT TO THE NEW JAE SITE WITH PICS.
Hi guys, i went to represent the MK1 club at the meeting of the new JAE site at East Mersea today & met with Scott Barton & Ben F & John Machlin from the IMOC side of things, we were all very impressed with the new site & the upbeat spirit of the event organisers, this promises to be a fantastic show , lots of questions were asked & answered & they seem to be really well prepared which is very encouraging, i think the thing that shone through more than anything else was their focus on making this new site & show a more social event with loads more to do, theres litterally loads of space & lots of ideas in the pipeline to make this new JAE show a success, ive taken a few pics ( well loads really ) they dont really do justice to the site, but take it from me this is a return to the good old days
Enjoy ! Jinxy
This will be the main show & shine area.
This is the trade area, with the stalls all in one place ( for a change! )
This is a view of one of the large cabins.
An end view of the main canteen building, this is a very large building which will serve a full English breakfast &dinnertime meals if needed.
just the other side of that wall is a very large swimming pool
This is basically a front view of where the MR2 village will be, the area behind the fence is the sea & beach !!
These are the main absailing towers !!
The area behind the trees is the quiet camp area.
These are the smaller cabins.
This is the centre of the main car club show field, there is a lot more than this shot shows.
A couple of shots of the beach, this is litterally just behind where the tents will be situated & where the MR2 village will be sited
.
This pic shows a small space between the fence on our stand & the start of the sea wall this is take from the sea side of the fence
.
The next few pics were taken on a short jaunt to West Mersea, litterally a 3 - 5 min driver from the site.
Gotta love the name of this boat
Enjoy ! Jinxy

I'm liking the "stay in a shed option" just like being at home
did you have to scrape the barnicles off when you got home though

Its a very pretty little Island Kevin, all the shops Tesco / Co op/ Spar etc are all within a 3 min drive on West Mersea along with petrol stns & cash machines, also there is a brewery & vinyard right next door to the site if you fancy a brisk walk along the beach its there, or a walk around the boats & have a hot breakfast whilst looking out to sea then again West Mersea is just a short 3 minute drive away ,

P.S Barnacles came off just fine thanks

Jinx,
I like the boat roof rack on the 2 cars in the picture above, very clever design.
Was it as cold as it looks in the pictures...

Mike it was not so much cold but a bit blowy, that may turn out to be a big bonus if the weather is really hot nice sea breeze should see you lot knocked out & in bed by 8pm ... who needs a quiet camp area , Jinx
