Re: Project 2011 !!
about to take off crankshaft pulley so off to shop to buy crankshaft puller or is there an easier way of gettin it off ?
Re: Project 2011 !!
You can make a real simple tool to draw it off mate...
There are 4 holes in the crankshaft pulley, around the centre bolt. Two are threaded.
You'll need two long'ish bolts that will go into the threaded holes.
Then a thickish piece of steel plate about 10cm by 3cm wide, drill two holes in it- one at either end that will line up with the threaded holes on the pulley.
Put a socket, or equivalent (needs to be smaller than the centre hole of the crankshaft pulley) against the end of the crankshaft (obviously once the bolt is removed). Put your steel plate on top of the socket, then your two bolts (with washers) through the plate and into the crankshaft pulley.
Then slowly wind both bolts in together, this will push the plate against the socket, and so push against the end of the crankshaft, thus pulling the pulley off the end of the shaft.
Hope that makes sense- difficult to explain without a picture lol

Re: Project 2011 !!
Look to be standard flywheel bolts.
If that gasket is missing from the oil pick up, theres a chance that it was sucking in air!
Id totally strip the engine and clean throughout and check oil clearances. Are those cams scored?
Hows the crank journals?

Re: Project 2011 !!
yeah the engine was originally xeno`s then sold then i bought it from another lad on here. The engine has had some money put into it but some things just seem bad like finding oil pickup gasket in the sump which is not the best place for it and loads of swarf in the head
